Fine/Fine. First edition in d/w not price clipped. WITH A SIGNED LETTER ABOUT THE BOOK FROM THE AUTHOR. At the beginning of the Second World War, the author was evacuated to South Devon where she met Jim. He was killed on the night of 11th July 1943 when his plane crashed on returning from a mission over Germany. These poems were inspired by Joyce's experiences during this time, and the scenery of Jim's native Buckinghamshire. Signature of receiver of letter on front endpaper; else a fine copy, in a fine d/w, of a VERY SCARCE first edition WITH A SIGNED LETTER FROM THE AUTHOR.
