Drafted as one of Hitler's Youth

On January 21, 1945, just 16 years old, he was drafted into the Volkssturm ( Poeple's storm - Homeland Defense Force). Armin was decorated with the Iron Cross II, for pulling another soldier out of the line of fire, when he himself was injured. Because of this honor he was sent to Berlin to become a member of Hitler's birthday delegation and subsequently he was retained by HJ-leader Artur Axmann as a courier to Hitler in the bunker during the waning days of the war.
Hitler's last courier at the end of WWII

Armin writes about the harrowing events that followed in his books: “Hitler's last Courier” and “In Hitler's Bunker” which have been translated in 4 languages and sold throughout the US, Europe, Australia, and soon to be released in China.
After the War

Recovering from paralysis he began a search for the truth, and understanding of what had transpired, and the quest for it never to happen again. He studied journalism and then took a job in the travel industry. He traveled and wrote, moved to the United States, and became a citizen in 1967.
