Harold Vinal: Born October 17, 1891, in Vinalhaven, Me.; died March 9, 1965. Editor, publisher, critic, essayist, and poet. Founder and editor of Voices, a quarterly poetry magazine, Vinal also worked as a free-lance writer for over forty years. Maine's beautiful scenery was often the subject of his poems. His poetry collections include A Stranger in Heaven, Hymn to Chaos, and Hurricane.
