Kurt Heinzelman (Poetry) co-founded and edited the award-winning The Poetry Miscellany and is currently Editor-at-Large for Bat City Review. A noted scholar of British Romanticism and modern poetry and poetics, he has been a multiple nominee for the Pushcart Prize and twice a finalist for the Poetry Book of the Year from the Texas Institute of Letters: for The Halfway Tree [2000] and Black Butterflies [2004]. His third book, The Names They Found There (2011), was Notable Poetry Book of the Year by Poetry International, and his latest collection is Intimacies & Other Devices (2013). Demarcations (2011) is his translation of Jean Follain’s 1953 Territoires. He is on the Advisory Board of Cunda International Workshop for Translators of Turkish Literature in Istanbul. A former director of Creative Writing in UT’s English Department and past editor of Texas Studies in Literature and Language (TSLL), he has served as Executive Curator of the Harry Ransom Center and Director of Education at the Blanton Museum of Art. An Honorary Professor at Swansea University (Wales), he has been from its inception in 2005 a judge of the International Dylan Thomas Prize.
