Description in book
"Hit Parade is my way of releasing and letting go of pain blown from Hell. In this book of poetry, I have expressed with as much power as possible, not the answers to war, but the utterance of its pain escaping from within one combat soldier. Vietnam has left tremendous pain in many of its survivors; nevertheless, pain must subside at some point. For me it starts with this book Hit Parade. Hit Parade is not just my pain, it is the pain of many men who helped me remain alive for nineteen months, even when the desire for life seemed to be far removed. My heart goes out to the bmen of Bravo Company and Delta Company, first of the eighth infantry, fourth infantry division. We still had a war to fight when we returned home."
