Note from author about why he wantd to publish these poems and a short biography, "Michael Burn was born in 1912 and educated at Winchester. During the war he joined the commandos and was a prisoner in Colditz, where he wrote his first novel, Yes Farewell. From 1946-1950 he was Eastern European correspondent of The Times. He has written several plays, including a play in verse The Modern Everyman; and has had two books of poems published, Poems to Mary and The Flying Castle."
