Some of the poems were published before in Night Flight and The Trackless Way but both of those were out of print at the time of production. The poems start with general and countryside and to loves lost but then there are many super wartime and aviation related ones –

(on pilots and planes) wings of youth - fighter pilots - swallow’s swan song - pilot’s wedding - the fallen airman - peace - hymn for airmen - London under fire - phantom crew - sailplanes - the mystery of flight; which mentions Mr Handley Page and Mr Fairey - celestial journey; very funny about an airman`s fantastic journey but he has actually fallen whilst getting in the plane – Mongrel thoughts; about the dog in space so post WW2 - Amy Mollison – the Chelsea Pensioner parades with the Royal Air Force – the record breakers – RAF open day – the flying club`s annual display – night flight

(on soldiers and fighting men) soldier - war - atlantic; which mentions guided missiles so must be later - dove of peace; which mentions the nuclear bomb – the young commander

(on hospitals and nurses) verses for nurses - night nurse - ward sister - nurse
