Largely war related poetry, with a biographical note by his uncle, Fitzwater Wray. Eric Fitzwater Wilkinson was born in 1891 & Ed. at Grammar Schools in Dorchester & Ilkley (where he returned as a master after completing his studies at the Univ. of Leeds). Gazetted to the 6th West Yorks in 1914, then in France with the 8th Bn. he was wounded & awarded the MC near Ypres in 1915. On his return to the front he was Town Major of Varennes then I.O. of his Bn., again wounded on 1/7/1916 near Thiepval. Gassed in July 1917, he convalesced in France & rejoined his bn., & was KiA in the attack on Passchendaele, 9/10/1917. He was 26 & is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
