Titterton, William Richard (1876-1963.) As a young man he drifter from job to job, hoping to reach Fleet Street. A self-described trano, he wandered through France and Germany. An artists' model in London and Paris, posing for Jacob Epstein. Poet of the First World War. Author and journalist working for several leading newspapers and magazines. Received into the Roman Catholic church in 1931, shortly afterwards joining the staff of the Universe.
