"Ritter, Tod und Teufel" (= Knight, Death and Devil) from 1915; contains 41 war poems by Rudolf Herzog, nice hardcover, includes the beautifully illustrated original dustjacket (!) with images of the iron cross, German war flag and German soldiers; also a good number of tiny military WWI sketches, advertisements for other military books in the back, and a separate large fold-out page with an excerpt from the book and a list for ordering additional copies (see my pictures); 156 pages, in very good condition.


Rudolf Herzog (* 6. Dezember 1869 in Barmen (jetzt: Wuppertal); † 3. Februar 1943 in Rheinbreitbach) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller, Journalist, Dichter und Erzähler. Herzog war zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhundert ein Bestseller-Autor, die meisten seiner Bücher erreichten Auflagen von mehreren Hunderttausend. Diese erschienen meist im Klett-Cotta Verlag, später im Vier-Falken-Verlag seines Sohnes
