volunteered for active service on the day on which Britain declared war, and was called to become adjtant to Colonel Ireson, comaner of the Army service Corps (Tornto Area). He was sent oversears eith the First Division "canadians) early in 1940 and has written this book of verse with th ehope of creating deeper understanding between the British and Canadians.

Lieut Boag ahas always held pronouced views on military service, It being his opoinion that every young man owes at least a yars service to his country to fit himself for her protection. He himself served beore the war in three Militia Regiments besides the Navel Cadets in Ottawa.
