Notes
"The author of this little booklet saw service on the Border during the Villa uprising at Llana Grande and Mercedes Texas in 1915. ' Also served in France

First edition. Callahan, a veteran who had been stationed both in France and along the Mexican border during the hunt for Pancho Villa, here cobbles together facts about the war, essays on his service and verses on topics ranging from the Third Division ("Many artillery skippers we boys will recall, For the best that we had was Capt. Dana C. Schmall"), conditions in France ("Hell in France"), conditions in Texas ("Hell in Texas"), humor relating to chow line, etc., before he closes with an incongruous ethnic joke. A trifle soiled; a fine copy.
