Notes
This is a unique and rare volume of poems in that Thomas is writing from the perspective of a fighter pilot. It contains all the passion of "Dawn Patrol," and many of the poems make Yeats' "An Irish Airman Forsees His Death," pale by comparison to Thomas' nerve-wracking accuracy and detail.

The Book was published in 1918 by McClelland Goodchild & Stewart, Toronto. The Book measures 5 inches by 7-1/2 inches in size and contains 101 pages of Thomas's Poems. Thomas, a Canadian, served as an officer on the Western Front with the Western Scots. After his unit took Vimy Ridge, Lt. Thomas transfered to the Royal Flying Corps as an aerial artillery observer. His published poems deal with Canada prior to the war, with the war in the trenches, and with the war in the air. Following the war, Thomas became a history professor. He passed away in 1970. The book has some spotting on the rear cover.
