William Ludwig Rosenberg, Born on 10 June 1850 in Hamm as a son of an official. It buildup with his grandfather, a caster master. Study of the philology and philosophy. Graduation to the Dr. phil. It was active as latin teachers and a journalist on that. Due to its journalistic activity for the social-democracy (since 1875) he moved after the socialist law (professional disqualification) [at the end of of 1880] into the UStA out. (Killy Literaturlexikon). From 1881 to 1884 editorship of the Chicagoer torch/flare sympathizing with the socialrevolutionary movement. From 1884 to splitting the party 1890 he was a top official of the socialist labour party of North America into New York. 1885 assumption of the editorship of the again-created party organ. Subsequently, he worked in Cincinnati as a journalist. 1902 founders of an institute for mentally handicapped children in Cleveland. He was a free writer last. It probably died 1928 in Cleveland. Rosenberg was one of the most prominent German-American writers. Its Prosa came out with the exile publisher Schabelitz in Zurich. Its 1880 collected “songs and poems” [...] remind in the clay/tone of Heine. Most were printed by its “sociopolitical” poems in the German-American worker press. [...] A goal by program of the R. affected by Büchner and Ibsen was the application of “economic movement laws to the drama” and thus the overcoming of the naturalism.
