A Collection of Original Poems
Embracing Sacred, Pathetic, Sentimental, Patriotic, Miscellaneous, and Humorous Poems

by William Henry Clay Dodson

Springfield, Ohio: Published privately by the author, May 1908. 5-1/4 x 7-3/4 inches, 206 pages. Teal blue cloth hardbound with gold lettering on cover and spine. Frontispiece with halftone of author and facsimile signature. Also original presentation on first free page:

Compliments of the author to his much esteemed friends, Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Williams, April 15, 1914.

Cover is lightly worn and soiled. Front hinge is separated between title page and frontispiece. Title page is loose. Water stain along top edges, not serious. Overall condition is about good, but the original presentation makes it all seem worthwhile. A rare book to begin with. Dodson served in the Civil War with the 42nd Ohio Infantry Regiment and several of the poems reflect this service and subsequent reunions.
