Original cloth, pictorial endpapers. Several full-page illustrations in the text by Norman Lindsay. In this volume Gellert, listed in Reilly as an Australian war poet, writes a number of poems that deal directly with life and death at the front, so presumably he was a combatant. Norman Lindsay is generally considered to be the most famous as well as the finest 20th century Australian book illustrator
