Notes
aye Voigt Abikhaled was born in Berlin, Germany. In 1950 she was awarded the Kiwanis foreign student high school scholarship award. Immigrating to the United States in 1960, she attended college at night and worked during the day. She has been a prolific community volunteer for various interest groups for over twenty years, is married and has two grown children.

German poetry was a favorite family entertainment during childhood. Later, English and American poetry became a personal pursuit of hers. Now, research and writing poetry and screen plays have developed into a full-time retirement occupation.
