"George Michael 'Sonny' Gratzer was born in Eveleth MN on 5 May 1940 and raised from infancy in Butte, MT. A graduate of Butte Public High School and the University of Montanta he was commissioned a US Army Officer in rotc. He completed airborne and ranger training and served with infrantry divisions in germany and vietnam. his many military decorations include the silver star soldiers medal bronze star Vietnamese cross of gallantry and the combat infantryman's badge. He was medicallyr etired as a captain in 1968 He writes stories, poems and songs at his home in Missoula, MT.
