Additionally, there is a loose note written by a typewriter in the book dated May 4, 1947 "To General Lee: As requested by the Theater Commander, the poems believed by the undersigned to be of the most interest are marked by tabs. The remainder are for the most part on some vein and meter. Sgt Lynch". The note has a header "Mediterranean Theater of Operations Office of the Commanding General"
