Notes
Bruce Colbert is a Vietnam veteran and war poet, discusses war in several poems but book does not focus on war poetry.

Bruce Colbert & Graham Timbes will hold a reading from their works at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at The Book Cellar at Page & Palette, 32 S. Section St. in Fairhope. For more information on the venue, visit www.pageandpalette.com or call 251-928-5295.

The event honors both National Poetry Month and an ongoing national commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Timbes' and Colbert's books will be donated to the Fisher House Foundation, which provides temporary housing and support for families of hospitalized veterans.

From the back cover:
"Bruce Colbert's powerful new poetry collection rests on realities and the art of seeing, tasting and being in this human chaos we call life. And with the muscular shoulders of Chicago, maybe the last great American city as much of his backdrop we are taken on an enduring emotional and spiritual quest. His "Architecture of Being" is a painful and profound journey of the heart. Nighthawks Stadium stocking cap pulled determinedly down above chilled pink fleshy faces almost young that herald hints of hurried make up and ageless eyes, brownish blond hair a frame to a Gdansk self portrait with nasal three flat dirty-carpeted accents And a toothy smile of cold white foamy resolve that sees this nocturnal instant crawling guiltless toward them across a damp mahogany bar in its reality. Bruce Colbert is an actor, filmmaker and author of "A Tree on the Rift," "Lombard Street" and "The Race Lost." His stories and poems have appeared in over twenty literary magazines. A new espionage novel will be released later this year."
