Notes
From the front/back cover:
"This moving collection of verse accurately describes the feelings and thoughts of people in time of crisis, peace, love, joy, or reflection... portrays what a soldier feels before he dies... Included are portrayals of our older people and younger people. It tells of simple people and of complicated people-of heroes, heroines and cowards."
"Billy N Cooper was born in 1937 in Arkansas where he worked in the cotton fields. He has also worked as a truck driver, salesman, service station attendent, clerk, common laborer, and a semi-professional musician for most of his life. The author has served in the United States Air Force Since 1957. He is a Chief Master Sergeant, presently stationed at Biloxi, Mississippi. In addition to twelve different stateside assignments, he has served his country in North Africa, Vietnam, and twice in Korea. He has personally experienced the horrors of war, and the white crosses of which he speaks. He has lived in many countries around the world and is firmly convinced that America is by far the grandest of them all."
