"Born in Chunte, Kansas, and raised in California, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1966... assigned to Third Battalion, Forth Marines, Third Marine Division, and choppered into the jungle to join his new outfit in Operation Hastings... wounded trying to take hill 484.. He was involved in a variety of successful projects such as the Outreach Vet Center, a nursing home for veterans, and the Veterans Memorial Statue were all built in Prescott, Arizona. He posed for the statue's wounded soldier located on the courthouse plaza."
