William Crasper is a Marine combat veteran, having served in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969. He was honorably discharged in 1971 with the rank of sergeant. Afterward he worked in a cement factory, as a brakeman and passenger trainman, as a forestry technician, and as a veterans counselor. He has been an amateur boxer and blues harmonica player and is a degree candidate in creative writing."
