A letter addressed to Thomas Parkinson from the editor Jan Barry "Steve Smith suggested that we send you a review copy of our book. Inasmuch as we published it ourselves - and so far are having to distribute it ourselves - perhaps you could help us with some west coast bookstore and publicity contacts. As you will see, the book is the first of its kind - perhaps in several ways. A new kind of promotion, therefore, seems to be needed as well. Appreciate any aid, comfort or advice you can give on getting these poems about the war the attention we feel they deserve."

Also contains another letter from the editors giving a copy of the publication as well as the other items.

4 poems fro the war published by the New York times - The Fifty Gunner by Frank A. Cross Jr., A Bummer by Michael Casey, The Witness Remains by Nhat Hanh and The Longest War by Jan Barry
