Folded pamphlet features a poem "For honour and for her!", by Margaret Scruton, about a soldier's inspiration in battle being the wife, mother or sweetheart left behind. At the left of the inside spread is a space for the soldier to stick a photograph of his loved one. Text explains that "the poem is gummed on the back for fastening in your paybook, or ditty box".
