Leslie Thomas Loader born 1923 in Southampton, served in the Army [The Hampshire Regiment, later the Royal Hampshire Regiment] twice during the 1939/45 War.
In May 1939, at the age of 16 years and 1 month, he joined the Territorial Army by stating he was 18.
"Joining the 'Terriers' was one of the best things that I have done" he claims. It is the best Youth Club for any teenager and should be expanded now to give the youth of today the sense of purpose that the 'Terriers' gave to us.
