Following up on the publication of Hummingbird, Pearlina Kline's first collection of poetry and prose, War Poems came to the author while watching America's foray into the war with Iraq. As she watched the war unfold, Ms. Kline began to compile groups of words that reflected what she was seeing and hearing. The words which ended up on her paper had no trouble showing the tribulation of our men and women serving in Iraq, and for all those involved in such a difficult struggle.
