Notes
Author has no military expereince, however he states that his son was considering a career in the US airforce causing "pain to knife through me" Hurry Home reads like a short story, though it is really a collection of poems that captures the imbalance that occurs when people who love each other are suddenly separated. The author is one, though the voices are many. Both male and female, they speak from the heart about war, about missing their soldier lovers who have gone off to war, and about what war means to them. Hurry home is a must read because each and every poem lives a life of its own.

from authors website "hurry home (war chronicles) is not just about war. In fact, it is hardly about war, unless we really are talking about the war of emotions, not missles, landmines, and terrorists acts and accusations. When lovers are separated, and their hearts cannot be satisfied because neither can their physical bodies, then a war of emotions ensues. Hurry Home (war chronicles) is about this war. The poems are very moving, and for many, caused them to remember that it is okay to be foolishly (or feverishly) in love. But like a plane in a nose dive - you gotta pull up. "
