Inscriptions: "Edited by Vera Brittain" (by editor); "Henry S. Neele, [illegible] best-wishes from L.J Garbrett. Christmas 1935"
Inserted: photograph of woman (poss. author?); note from Garbrett: "'The Frozen Earth' + 'Symphony Concert' were written for Vera Brittain's brother Edward who was killed in the war + who was a talented musician. 'The Foolish Clocks" was written just after Vera went to America + sent to her there. Winifred had let the flat they shared as she was going a tour in S. Africa in 1925 + where it was thought she had picked up the germ that caused her death. Knowing their history makes the poems more interesting don't you think. Please let Hal read this."
