With an Introduction by Elie Wiesel

Inscribed by author: "For Ann(e) Weiss who understands better than most-- Best! Hans Juergensen, July 30, 1977"

Inserted unsigned letter (likely first draft) to author: "August 10, 1977, Dear Dr. Juergensen: I had been away in Pittsburgh to visit friends and it was a pleasant surprise to find the two volumes you mailed to me waiting for me [when] I returned last Sunday. Thank you ever so much for them. Of course, I "checked" No 4 immediately and found it to still match the final typewritten version you gave me way back in 1967 -- along with the first version which was handwritten. Your volume has now joined the other I have on my bookshelf- It seems, there are still two volumes missing- Hebraic Modes and Existential Canon- to make the collection complete or rather up-to-date, but I shall find them eventually when I shall need them. I think, it would be prudent to wait with my project for a few years, but please keep me posted as to what you are doing, just in case I might miss something. It's also obvious, that I have to start on a second collection: Ilse Juergensen. Please, give her my regards. Thanks again and the very best to you. Sincerely, P.S. I am very busy iwth Anna Neagoe's biography. Bertha liked the first three chapters very much and wants me to go ahead with the book. We are now working on the financial details."
