Book Description: 22 x 14 cm., [vi]. 37 pp. The Deserted Garden was written in July 1917, at Bivouac Farm, Ypres, where the author was serving with the Seaforth Highlanders. The book was published in the year of the author's death, and includes a portrait frontispiece. It is covered in green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and front. CONDITION. VG+/ VG+. A clean tight copy. The dust jacket lightly rubbed along the top edge and has a small tear bottom right front. No marks of ownership.


Alasdair Alpin MacGregor (1899 - 1970) was a Scottish writer and photographer, known for a large number of travel books. He wrote also on Scottish folklore, and was a published poet.
