The author was a full time police officer for more than 29 years. He also served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He is a lifetime student of the martial arts, earning Black Belts in Judo, Karate and Kobudo. He teaches Police tactics at Oakton Community College and has more than 300 papers (essays, reviews, poems) and 35 books/manuals published. He is the founder of Bushi Satori Ryu, which means Warrior Enlightment School.
