Notes
A freelance journalist, Arthur Howarde Tilse attended the Brisbane Central Technical College. While travelling extensively throughout the East he studied Oriental art, history and philosophy. From 1940-1945, Tilse served with the A.I.F. and R.A.A.F. The selected poems which appear in Musings of a Moresby Mouse (1944) were written while he was on active service. ....This is a lovely copy of the scarce war poetry book "The Musings Of A Moresby Mouse : Papuan Poems" by Howarde Tilse, published in 1944 by Barker's Bookstore, Brisbane.
It features 21 poems including "The Owen-Stanley Track", "Fuzzy Wuzzy", "Dawn - On A Jungle 'Drome", "When I Come Home" etc.
The book is in very good condition for it's age, with just an ink library number on the cover near the word "Moresby" (as visible in the scan), as well as a library stamp at the top right-hand corner of the flyleaf.
