War Poems & Drawings depicting the Burma Campaign during World War 2

2005 marks the 60th anniversary of VJ Day and this emotive collection of poetry and drawings is a chilling reminder of the terrible conditions suffered by the ‘Forgotten Army’ of Allied servicemen who fought in the Burma campaign during World War Two.

As a survivor of that campaign, Kenneth Child knows only too well that he was one of the lucky ones – many of his colleagues and friends did not live to see our eventual victory over the Japanese – and, as his poems reveal, there were times when the living almost envied the dead, such were the privations of jungle warfare.

Ken's emotive poems and detailed line drawings paint a very powerful and effective picture of what life in the tropical jungle was like for those who fought in this most arduous of campaigns, and this little book will no doubt find favour with fellow veterans and their families.
